parkrun — free, weekly community 5k runs and junior events

parkrun organises free, timed 5-kilometre runs every Saturday morning at hundreds of parks across the UK and free junior (2k) events on certain days; registration is free and you only need to sign up once online to receive a personal barcode used at every event. Events are open to all ages and abilities, run by volunteers, and welcome walkers as well as runners; they provide a regular, no‑cost way to get active and meet people locally.
