parkrun: free weekly community 5k runs and events

parkrun organises free, timed 5k runs and junior events across parks and open spaces throughout the UK, open to people of all ages and abilities at no charge. Anyone can register once online for a free barcode, then attend any local parkrun event on a Saturday morning (and junior events during the week) to participate; events are volunteer-led and community-focused.
