Free weekly community 5K runs with parkrun

parkrun organises free, timed 5K (and junior) community runs every weekend in parks and open spaces across the UK; they are open to people of all ages and abilities and are entirely free to take part. Participants register once on the parkrun website to get a personal barcode, then arrive at any parkrun location on the day and run/walk/register; volunteers from the community manage events. It’s a low-cost way to get regular exercise, meet neighbours and track improvements over time without membership fees.
