Free onsite research access and public services at the British Library

The British Library offers free onsite reference access to its reading rooms, extensive collections (for consultation), public exhibitions and many digitised resources. UK residents and visitors can register for a free Reader Pass (subject to ID requirements) to use reference materials and study spaces, while online catalogues and many learning resources are freely available to everyone. Some specialist services or reproductions may carry fees, but access to core reading rooms and public resources for research and learning is free.
