Forestry England manages thousands of hectares of public woodland across England, providing free access to many forests, waymarked trails, play areas and seasonal family events (walking and wildlife activities are free). UK residents can visit most woodlands at no charge; some sites may charge for parking or specific paid events, but general access and many informal activities remain free.
